Yesterday was National Children's Book Day. We all have our favorite books from childhood, titles that spark imagination and recall fond childhood memories. Last month I shared one of my favorite books in a
previous post honoring Dr. Seuss.
It's easy to see how Children’s Book Day celebrates books, encourages literacy and stimulate the growth of their imagination, but what can a book do to market your message?
If your business, non-profit or agency seeks to connect with kids, then books are a smart choice. For example a fire department or police department like the
Town of Apex can use
interactive coloring books or picture books to share safety tips or encourage a positive image of first responders in the community.

A school might use a bookmark to encourage a program at school, like this
Walk To School Program at Olive Chapel Elementary or a business seeking to connect with a student population might donated bookmarks with health tips. Many school's have reading incentive programs; a local ice cream shop might buy bookmarks and offer a discount on the back to students who reach specific levels. Using a full color surface like the one
featured here, a school PTA can showcase family event fundraisers, encourage participation in the annual book fair or sell advertising space to local book stores, coffee shops ( the parents are usually part of a reading program with kids) or your local pizzeria.
Books and magazines are also popular in waiting rooms! A smart choice for making a family connection are personalized books using popular titles. On the favorites tab of our website, is a link to
The Book Company; the gift that's never thrown away. We helped
NuImage select a book for a holiday promotion that placed a children's book inside the waiting room of referring dental practices.
If you have a business that would like to connect with families,
take a peek, there are books that would be great for financial planners, pediatricians, churches and family counselors. Inspired? Instead of getting your nose out of a book- maybe you should take a longer look at books as a way to share your message. After-all,
83% of consumers can recall the name of an advertiser on a tangible product.
