Promotional Partners Can't Stress It Enough!

Stress does not only cause a lack of productivity in the workplace, but also increases health issues. According to The American Institute of Stress, 75 percent of employees consider their jobs to be a huge source of stress. It has also been known to increase the risk of stroke by 50 percent.

Here are some tips that can help you beat stress in and out of the workplace:

Laughter: Laughter has been known to release endorphins, decrease blood pressure, and increase oxygen in the blood, in turn, reducing tension. “Laugh therapy” is a practice where people get together in groups and perform laughter exercises. At Promotional Partners, we laugh during the craziness of the day at situations and with one another over daily routines. For example we have a running joke with UPS, no heavy boxes on Friday. ( we are located on the second floor with no elevator)

Selflessness: Being able to put others before yourself can remove the focus of stress in your own life and focus on helping others. Understanding clients’ needs and their success can ultimately benefit your business goals. Offering to do something nice with " no strings" is a simple way to make someone's day.

Take a Soothing Bath: This seems like an obvious task to reduce stress. Adding essential oils, Epsom salt and candles can further the relaxation process. Even listening to soothing music is a great way to meditate and unwind. Speaking of baths, spa baskets are a great way to reward employees and top client relationships.

Step Away from Technology: Pick a time during the day to briefly put away your phone, laptop, and other devices. This can help reduce eye fatigue and life's stress. Studies also show that detaching from technology at least thirty minutes before bed will help you sleep better. When things get crazy here at Promotional Partners, you will often find that we've gone for a walk! It's a healthy break, makes use feel fresh to an old problem, we probably shared some laughs and we get to know our co workers better.

Take Care of Physical Health: Having a regular sleep schedule is ideal for performing your best at work. Regular exercise and having a balanced diet can improve mental and physical health as well. To promote quality sleep, a sleep mask and ear plugs will appeal to travelers- and those are easily branded with your logo; share your brand story and message with personal care products to layer more dimension to your brand. If you are in the hospitality industry, quality sleep IS what you offer!

Adult Coloring Books: Coloring manifests a creative mind and can naturally help sooth you. Coloring is not only for kids anymore; millions of adults are benefiting. Get out your crayons and enjoy a simple and creative activity! There are coloring books, calendar, desk pads, notepads and make your own coloring book- we can use our design team to help you create your own signature piece.

Listen to Music: Music is an expression of one’s self and can help alleviate stress and negative emotions. Create a playlist that works best for you and listen to it at work, in traffic or at home. Yep, we listen to music at Promotional Partners too. Sara and Miranda endure Olivia's comments on the popularity of 1980's music-"wow, I  know that one"- but it's "all good".

Breathing Techniques: In stressful situations, there is less oxygen flowing to the brain. Taking deep breaths will provide the necessary oxygen your body needs and will help you relax as well. Pair this with a stress squeeze to elevate your relaxation routine. Before spinners there were pencils to tap and stress squeeze shape galore to calm the stressed mind.

What's your favorite way to unwind?
